Amazon.com Product Description The Joshua Roth Hori-Hori digging tool has a stainless steel blade that is very sharp and concave shaped, making it a perfect tool for scooping soil and other materials. The tool was originally designed for excavating aged plantings high in the mountains of Japan, where enthusiasts still find prized specimens for bonsai. This tool is especially valuable in the garden. such as for cutting and scraping soil, weeds, vegetables, and woody plants. The quality carbon steel construction will let you dig, pry, and cut with ease, while serrated teeth along one edge provide a convenient saw for the more difficult tasks. And the semi-sharp edges let you get the work done with less concern about safety. A sturdy vinyl sheath and belt loop ensure your Hori-Hori will always be on hand when you need it. Its thick, natural wood handle provides a secure, comfortable grip to lessen the effort of the task at hand. This product also comes with a 3-year limited manufacturer's warranty.

GREAT QUALITY PRODUCT! June 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Amazon.com product description is exactly right on! This tool, made in Japan, is as sturdy as they come - beautiful wood handle, strong blade, and a very fancy sheath with ornate decoration.
The only problem is that it is so darned pretty you don't want to get it in the dirt. Anyway, I did, and it performed extremely well.
A high quality product in every way!
Great! June 19, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Since receiving this tool, it sets right next to the back door. It's the first thing I pick up on the way to the garden and the last thing I lay down. It is FAR superior to the flimsy look-a-likes on the market. I really enjoy using it. Jerry

Really liked the knife. It could be a bit sharper but overall I use it bunches.

This is a great tool to use for gardening. I am so glad an Arborist recommended this tool. Sure made weeding much easier.

My FAVORITE garden tool. Super weeder/trowel. Stainless steel might be better as dirt sticks to carbon steel model; hard to clean.
