Album Description TiAsto is undeniably one of the greatest DJ talents of this era. Internationally recognized as the world's premier DJ and producer, TiAsto continually takes electronic music to the next level - pushing boundaries with his addictive and creative trance creations. With his prior album releases enjoying outstanding success in the States, the time has come for his next installment: ELEMENTS OF LIFE. This record includes brilliant collaborations from the likes of BT, Maxi Jazz (Faithless) and other incredible female vocalists; a stunning collection of uplifting trance ensues. Supporting this release with performances at Coachella, WMC and an extensive national tour through Summer 07, Elements of Life will be THE electronic album of 2007.
Amazon.com Tiesto sticks to his guns on a new album of original compositions that follows 2004's Just Be. Elements of Life strikes a satisfying balance between inventive vocal tracks and signature trance stormers: "Ten Seconds Before Sunrise," "Driving to Heaven," and "Bright Morning Star" all glow with the Dutchman's epic sound, one that is simultaneously haunting and uplifting. On the vocal side, the soaring energy of "Break My Fall," which features BT on vocals, will not disappoint fans of the duo's prior work on "Just Be" and other collaborations. To be sure, there are a number of less convincing pieces as well: "Dance4Life" with Faithless's Maxi Jazz falls flat, and the lyrics of "Can You Feel Me" prove that the genre's reputation for banal wordsmithing is not entirely undeserved. For the most part, however, these weaker moments are outweighed by the stronger tracks. Principal among these is undoubtedly "Sweet Things"--in which Charlotte Martin's vocal high-wire act is complemented by some exceptional programming--a track that is sure to receive a great many spins by DJs around the globe and yet further proof that when it comes to bringing alive the female voice for the dancefloor, Tiesto remains without equal. All in all, it's a safe bet that many of Tiesto's Elements will be making their way into DJ crates and MP3 players alike. --Brent Kallmer

Excellent! December 3, 2008 Just like in any CD there is a couple of not so good songs, but most of the tracks are Tiesto reinventing and pushing limits. Go for it. Will be a collector's item!
CD of 12 tracks. Liked it all except for track #11 October 22, 2008 This CD starts with track #1 which is soothing vocals only - no music whatsoever throughout the whole track. Which I found to be very relaxing and it was a nice surprise to get. I thought I'd get all Trance music. The rest of the CD is very good but it's not a DJ mixed CD like others I've purchased in the past. The reason why I didn't give this CD 5 stars was a simple one but when most people listen to this CD, will agree with me that track #11 has a male's voice talking throughout the track and I think one time would've been sufficient but it goes on and on that when the track comes to its end, my mood changed from enjoying the CD to being annoyed by this male's voice talking. I thought DJ Tiesto had better taste and skills than to include this as Elements of Life.
Pretty Good July 21, 2008 Tiesto is a good producer but a better DJ. The tracks on here are pretty decent but the only one I REALLY liked a lot was "Break My Fall" and "In The Dark" was pretty good too.
Decent June 30, 2008 I would agree that this album isn't as good as his previous efforts. The songs don't really stand out and grab you and stay with you throughout the day. They just don't leave that lasting impression. I say this because great albums usually stay in my player for weeks while this one has lasted a few days and i'm over it. A great example of a good album is his In My Memory release. While the sounds are sophisticated and solid, I just didn't think this particular album flowed as well. Some songs that DID stand out were Bright Morningstar, Elements of Life, and Do you feel me. If your looking to find a floor banger like Adagio for strings, Traffic or Silence; Im afraid you won't find it here. I do like some newer stuff Tiesto has put out like Allure - Somewhere inside of me and his remix of Cary Brothers - Ride. So its not like Tiesto is losing it as some people are mentioning on here. This album is decent and I wont argue that some think its great. It just didnt do it for me like his past albums thats all. Go buy it and judge for yourself. I mean, any real Tiesto fan will get it regardless.
Great album June 8, 2008 I saw Tiesto in Vegas, then went straight to the store to buy this cd! It's Effing awesome!!!
