5 out of 5 stars Fabulous book on cross-cultural African divination rituals and ritual tools   June 29, 2008
2 out of 2 found this review helpful

This book offers fascinating information and pictures of little known divinatory tools from cultures across Africa. Whether your interest is art historical, religious, divinatory, cultural or something else entirely, there is information to engage you in this book. The photos are beautiful, and the book's format is large enough so the photos have enough room to shine. As an initiate of one of the New World religions derived from Ifa, I found inspiration in this book as well as information. Seeing the traditional tools of an Ifa diviner was thrilling to me. I recommend this book highly: it is first-rate.
